چکیده
Diabetes mellitus is responsible for billions in annual healthcare costs, is a leading cause of premature death inthe US, and is a driving factor of end-stage renal disease, heart disease, blindness, and amputations in the industrialized world. Managing diabetes is complex and can have significant impacts on quality of life. Traditional insulin pumps, whether subdermal, transdermal, or wearable have their limitations and can constrain the patient in terms of physical activity and lifestyle[1].

Background: Pump therapy (CSII) is offered as a safe and effective treatment for patients with type 1 Diabetes. We examined the efficacy and safety of continuous subcutaneous Insulin Infusion Therapy for six months as a before-after clinical trial study among type 1 diabetic patients. This is the first survey of this experience in Iranian patients. Methods: We recruited, type 1 diabetic patients...

Objective: Serum Leptin concentration reflects the body fat mass. There is controversial reports about the insulin effect on serum Leptin concentration. We wanted to examine the effect of insulin therapy on serum Leptin in children with new onset type I diabetes. Materials and Methods: This was a Cross-Sectional study in Children's Medical Center on 34 children who had new onset type I diabe...

Background and aims: Previous research has shown that one of the factors associated with type II diabetes and insulin resistance is impaired iron metabolism; also, one of the elemental keys in type II diabetes is regular exercise. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of moderate intensity body pump training on iron-related indices in women with type II diabetes. Methods: In the pr...
متن کاملImproved Glycemic Control With Intraperitoneal Versus Subcutaneous Insulin in Type 1 Diabetes
OBJECTIVE Continuous intraperitoneal insulin infusion (CIPII) with an implantable pump has been available for the past 25 years. CIPII, with its specific pharmacodynamic properties, may be a viable treatment alternative to improve glycemic control in patients with type 1 diabetes for whom other therapies have failed. There have been few studies in which CIPII was compared with subcutaneous insu...
